MARANA — Over 69 pounds of meth was seized and two Phoenix men arrested during a traffic stop along Interstate 10 near the Pinal-Pima County line.

According to the Arizona Department of Public safety, on the night of Feb. 17, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle along westbound I-10 near Marana. The trooper’s canine partner alerted to the vehicle during the stop, and a subsequent search revealed over 69 pounds of meth concealed in the vehicle.

The driver and passenger, 34-year-old Adolfo Veliz and 23-year-old Miguel Angel Rodriguez, both from Phoenix, were booked into the Pima County Jail on felony drug charges.
