Dick Myers Toltec Building

Dick Myers, president of the Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum board, is overseeing the restoration of the old Toltec school into the museum.

CASA GRANDE — “AT LAST” is the theme for the Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum’s 16th annual Dinner Dance on Nov. 2.

The band “Bad June” will provide the dance music and The Property in Casa Grande will again provide the venue. With good food, good music and good fun, the Museum Board invites the community to join in on the door prizes, raffle, and both silent and live auction items.

It’s the annual event to raise money to complete the renovation and maintain the two old school buildings in Eloy. Recognized as an Arizona Centennial Legacy Project, the old Toltec Elementary School on Toltec Road, just south of Frontier Road/Jimmie Kerr Boulevard has two buildings with significant historical value to the community. Eligible for the National Historic Registry, they are currently being restored by the Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum, Inc., a nonprofit organization.

The restoration is almost complete. Tickets for the Dinner Dance are $50 each or two for $90 and can be purchased from Dick Myers 520-840-1041 or Kristin Gramando 520-705-0910.

For more information on the Museum Project, to make a donation or to volunteer your assistance, please call Dick Myers at 520-840-1041. The museum address is PO Box 3723, Arizona City, AZ 85123 or visit the website http://scvhmuseum.org.
