ELOY — The Eloy Elementary School District welcomed a new face to its Governing Board as newly elected Sophia Caulton took in her first meeting as an official member on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting, Paul Rodriguez was renamed board president and Anna Ogle was named board clerk.
The board also tabled two items on the agenda, which included providing in-kind services for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. community celebration.
Superintendent Ruby James told the board that the event is postponed but there would still be an online celebration on Jan. 18.
The other tabled item was in regards to approving winter coaches for the junior high school.
Rodriguez told Eloy Junior High School Principal Danny Rogers the reason for the board’s decision was because it was still unknown if there will be a winter sports season.
At the beginning of the regular meeting, the board entered executive session for a self-evaluation and the superintendent’s evaluation.
