CASA GRANDE — Sun Life Family Health Center is offering another free drive-up COVID-19 testing blitz this weekend in Casa Grande and Florence.
Health officials reported only 36 new cases of the virus in Pinal County Wednesday morning, but that could be the result of a delay in reporting. Four new deaths were reported in the county, bringing the total to 113.
Statewide, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported 1,926 new cases, bringing the total to 150,609, and 56 new deaths for a total of 2,974.
According to Sun Life Family Health Center’s Facebook post, anyone interested in getting tested in Casa Grande must register online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CGtestingblitz before the event. Those interested in getting tested in Florence must register online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Florencetestingblitz. Every family member who is seeking a test must be registered.
In Casa Grande, the testing will take place from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Sun Life Center for Children, 1856 E. Florence Blvd. in Casa Grande. Sun Life has enough kits to test 350 people in Casa Grande.
The testing in Florence will take place from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Sun Life Family Health Center, 174 W. State Route 287. Sun Life has enough kits to test 100 people in Florence.
The testing is free at both sites, but residents must preregister online before they can be tested. Tests will be given to anyone over the age of 5 who is preregistered. Residents with insurance will have their insurance billed for the test. If insurance does not pay the cost of the test, Sun Life will provide it for free. If a person does not have insurance, they will have to fill out a non-insurance verification form, and Sun Life will provide the test for free. Residents can expect their test results in about 10 to 12 days.
