CASA GRANDE — On Saturday, the Casa Grande Rotary Club and Daybreak Rotary Club will offer meals to those in need.

About 300 prepared meal packages, each for six people, will be distributed free of charge to recipients on a first-come-first-serve basis to:

  • families who are experiencing unemployment or underemployment.
  • single-parent families.
  • those receiving assistance from the state or private agencies.

The distribution begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Eva’s Fine Mexican Food restaurant, 665 N. Pinal Ave.

Recipients will remain in their vehicles and volunteers will place a box of meals in the car.

Sponsors are the two clubs with donations from Walmart Distribution Center, Arizona Public Service Co. and the McCarville family in memory of Frances and Shawn McCarville, who died recently.

The Casa Grande Rotary Club held a similar meal distribution event in June, giving away 1,200 individual meals packaged in 200 six-serving packages.

The meals are ready-to-heat and designed to feed a family of six.
