FLORENCE — New confirmed COVID-19 cases the last 24 hours in Pinal County have been reported in four communities.

Five new cases were reported in Florence, Maricopa, Apache Junction and San Tan Valley.

Arizona health officials are reporting seven more deaths from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total to 122.

The number of deaths has nearly doubled from 65 a week ago. The deaths reported Monday were in Maricopa, Coconino and Apache counties.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services report on Monday morning, Pinal County now has 168 confirmed cases and four deaths.

Statewide, there were 3,702 cases and 122 deaths related to the virus, up from 3,539 cases and 115 deaths reported Sunday. That’s 163 higher than Sunday and nearly 1,250 from a week ago.
