MARICOPA — Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino will be reopening on Friday, but it will look a bit different than before.
After almost two months of the casino being closed for the first time since it opened, it will once again open its doors at 9 a.m. on Friday with special changes to operations so patrons can continue to be socially distanced while gambling.
This will mean spacing out the slot machines, limiting the number of people allowed at each blackjack table and continuing to keep the poker, bingo and keno rooms closed.
All employees will be wearing masks at the casino and hand-sanitizing stations will be located throughout the open portion.
There will also be limited dining options available. Dunkin Donuts, Copper Cactus, Chop, Block & Brew and Agave’s will all be open, but the buffet, Oak & Fork and Laurel Lounge will remain closed.
The hotel and resort will also be reopening as needed based on the number of reservations. Friday night will be the first open for reservations.
“Over the past several weeks the Tribal Council, along with Caesars management, have been monitoring the situation here in Arizona and across the country, making sure we had the best and most accurate information needed to reopen the casino,” Robert Livingston, general manager of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, said in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming back our casino guests in the coming days.”
