Electrical District 3 announced Thursday that the rates for 2018 will decrease by an average of 2 percent.

MARICOPA — Electrical District No. 3 is closing all customer service offices to the public on Thursday indefinitely in light of the spread of COVID-19.

The electric utility that services Maricopa and the surrounding area said the decision comes out of concern for the health of customers, employees and the community. It had previously announced that there will be no power shutoffs due to missed payments while people are being affected, and there are programs available to assist customers should they need them.

For customers seeking bill payment options, ED3 said to call 520-424-9021. Customers can also go to Walmart or Fry’s and make a cash or credit/debit payment to the district. Online payments at www.ed3online.org or its mobile app continue as usual.
