Monday, Aug. 17

An officer responded to a report of narcotics in mail addressed to an inmate on North Bowling Road. A charging review packet has been forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for determination of charges.

Tuesday, Aug. 18

An officer stopped a car for a non-functioning brake light on North Bowling Road. The driver and one passenger were released from the scene. Another passenger, James Carter, 27, was arrested on a warrant plus a charge of prohibited possessor with a weapon.

Wednesday, Aug. 19

An officer responded to a private property accident on East Salazar Road. The driver stated she was going to the cemetery, but her child wanted to leave. She attempted to make a U-turn, her steering wheel became stuck, she accidentally accelerated, crossed over a median and hit a tree. Florence Fire responded and evaluated the child for possible injury. No citation was issued.

Teresa Rodriguez, 27, was cited and released on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no vehicle registration.

Thursday, Aug. 20

Theft from a back yard was reported on East Arizona Circle.

While an officer was doing traffic control for a downed utility line near East Hunt Highway and East Oasis Lane, a car hit his police car. The officer suspected the driver to be DUI. A DUI investigation was completed and the driver’s blood was drawn. The case is pending test results.
