The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

July 6

An officer responded to a three-car accident on North Pinal Parkway. All vehicles had to be towed. Nico Nichols was cited on charges of reckless driving, endangerment and failure to control speed to avoid collision.

A hit-and-run accident was reported on East Duron Street.

July 7

An officer responded to one-car accident without injuries on South Main Street. Investigation revealed burn-out marks indicating the vehicle accelerated and began spinning out recklessly on and off the roadway. Jamison L. Owens, 28, was issued a criminal traffic citation on a charge of reckless driving and was civilly cited for failure to control speed to avoid collision.

Jody M. Flores, 49, was cited and released on a charge of disorderly conduct.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a garage on West Millerton Way.

July 9

A hit-and-run accident was reported on South Willow Street.

Police received a report of an inmate throwing a substance on a correctional officer on North Pinal Parkway. A charging review packet will be forwarded to the prosecuting attorney’s office for determination of charges.

July 10

An officer was dispatched to a possible assault/kidnapping and interviewed the victim. The suspect, Wayne Thibodeaux, 55, was later arrested and booked into jail on charges of disorderly conduct-domestic violence, assault-domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment-domestic violence.

July 12

Michael J. Webb, 34, was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail on a charge of assault-domestic violence.

July 14

A two-car accident without injuries was reported at East Celaya and South Main streets. No citation was issued.

July 19

Giovanni Ruiz, 21, was cited on DUI charges and failure to control speed to avoid collision.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run accident with injuries at East Florence Heights Drive and South Pinal Parkway. The victim provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle and was taken to the hospital. A suspect was located and a DUI investigation was conducted. Brett Lee, 31, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, three counts of DUI and assault.
