The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

Monday, May 31

A one-car accident with injuries was reported at Merrill Ranch Parkway and Constitution Way, where the driver veered off the road and struck a sign. The accident appeared to have been due to a medical issue. The driver was transported to the hospital and no citation was issued.

Thursday, June 3

An officer responded to a two-car accident with injuries on State Route 287. George Robinson stated he was making a U-turn and did not see the other car. He was taken to the hospital and the other driver said he was not injured. Robinson was cited for failure to yield entering freeway.

An officer responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a cement truck at North Felix and West Arizona Farms roads. The truck was observed to be on its side with the driver still inside. Florence Fire assisted in getting the driver out. The driver stated he did not know how the accident occurred and was transported to the hospital. A witness said he saw the driver go off the roadway to the right, try to get back on the roadway, over-correct and turn over on the east side embankment. The witness did not indicate speed was a factor. The case is closed pending further information.

Sunday, June 6

Officer was dispatched to a medical emergency on North Mulberry Street. It was reported a female was inside a vehicle having a seizure. Florence Fire dispatched and provided aide. Two males were also contacted. One of the males advised he witnessed the other male get into a physical altercation with the female, and he provided video of the altercation. Michael Truss, 28, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Florence Fire advised the female refused further medical assistance. After reviewing the video, it was determined to submit a charging review packet on the female as well.
