The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.
Monday, March 15
A non-injury accident was reported on West Bushwood Way. The drivers exchanged insurance information and no citations were issued.
Byrant Sheppard, 41, was arrested on a warrant.
Tuesday, March 16
A non-injury accident was reported at South Main Street and State Route 287. A car struck another car while making a left turn onto Florence Heights Drive. No citations were issued.
An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the Pinal County Superior Court parking lot. Harry Brito Rodriquez, 23, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
A woman reported her son stole her rental car. The rental company was contacted and was able to provide an approximate location. Law enforcement in that area located the vehicle and apprehended suspects. A charging review packet will be forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for determination of charges.
Wednesday, March 17
Officers were dispatched to a report of fighting. Kyle Ray, 43, was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Thursday, March 18
A semi tractor-trailer reportedly made a right turn onto North Main Street and struck a crosswalk pole, causing the crosswalk device box to break off. The driver, James Younan, stated he was new to the area and made a wrong turn. There was no damage to the truck or trailer. He was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
An accident was reported on South Pinal Parkway. Matthew Garlinghouse Ramirez, 25 was cited for no insurance and failing to stop for a red traffic light.
Friday, March 19
A West Cinder Brook Way resident reported items had been taken from her back yard overnight.
A hit-and-run accident involving a parked car was reported on North Pinal Parkway.
A private property accident was reported on North Pinal Parkway. The drivers exchanged insurance information. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
Assault on staff by an inmate was reported on North Bowling Road. A charging review packet will be forwarded to the appropriate prosecuting attorney for determination of charges.
Teresa Mendez, 42, was arrested on a warrant.
Saturday, March 20
Several items were reported missing from an apartment on Florence Heights Drive.

One car hit another car stopped at the stop sign at Judd and Attaway roads. Johanna T. Larsen, 49, was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
Clay W. Elkington, 23, driving on a suspended license, no current registration.
Alton R. Stokes, 64, driving suspended, use of portable wireless communication.
Jorge. A. Quintana, 22, no current registration, no proof of insurance.
Robert L. Gant, 41, no current registration, no proof of insurance.

Gaspar L. Servin, 57, less than 65/waste of finite resource, no proof of insurance.

Luis M. Valencia, 41, driving suspended.
