The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

Monday, April 5

An accident with injuries was reported at East Hunt Highway and North Pinal Parkway. The first car struck the other car while attempting to make a left turn onto Pinal Parkway. A passenger in the first car and the driver of the second car were both transported to the hospital. Lowell Johnson was cited for failing to yield.

Tuesday, April 6

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on South Pinal Parkway. David Davis, 42, was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited possessor.

Police responded to an accident at South Main Street and South Highway 79B. Carina Lopez was cited for failure to yield at intersection.

One car rear-ended another on Attaway Road just south of Hunt Highway. Brian C. Read, 61, was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

Friday, April 9

An officer stopped a car on Hunt Highway and conducted a DUI investigation. Mathew J. Corey, 49, was cited on charges of DUI and extreme DUI and was released to a responsible party.

Approximately 111 sheets of plywood were reported stolen from a construction site on West Pleasant Oak Court.
