The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

Monday, March 29

Kurt Waardenburg, 32, was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two warrants.

An accident without injuries was reported at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. The first car rear-ended the other. Nicholas R. Gryder, 19, was cited for failure to control speed.

A single-car accident without injuries was reported at Hunt Highway and Felix Road. The driver made a right turn too wide and hit the curb. No citation was issued.

A private property accident was reported on North Pinal Parkway. Nicole O. Gomez, 44, backed into another car. She was suspected of being under the influence and a DUI investigation was conducted. She received a criminal citation on charges of DUI and extreme DUI and was released to a responsible party.

Tuesday, March 30

An accident without injuries was reported at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. The first car hit a car stopped at a red light. Abbie G. Brown, 48, was cited for failure to control speed.

An officer was dispatched to a report of a violation of a court order on West Saratoga Way. The resident advised his neighbor violated an order of protection. A charging review packet will be forwarded to the town attorney for determination of charges.

Thursday, April 1

An officer observed a vehicle parked suspiciously at Butte Avenue and Plant Road and made contact with two males. While speaking with the males, the officer smelled on odor of unburned marijuana. The driver also stated there was a handgun under his seat. The driver was advised a charging review packet would be forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for determination of charges. The passenger, Coltin Stanford, was cited for possession of marijuana under the age of 21.

Friday, April 2

A driver hit a parked car on South Main Street. Doreen B. Edison, 55, was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

Officers were dispatched to a single-car accident with possible injuries on North Pinal Parkway. The driver stated he was not injured. An officer suspected the driver to be under the influence. The driver was transported to the Pinal County Substation for a blood draw. The driver was released to a responsible party. The case is pending lab results.

A license plate was reported stolen off a vehicle on South State Route 79B.

Sunday, April 4

Danielle R. Laboca, 24, was cited for speeding and was arrested on a warrant.
