The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

Monday, Oct. 11

A trailer, water wagon and generator were reported stolen near East Diversion Dam Road and North Padilla Road.

A three-car accident without injuries was reported at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. Jennifer Bruns was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

Wednesday, Oct. 13

An officer responded to an accident at East Hills Drive and North Attaway Road. The first driver, Eloy Olivas, stated he did not realize traffic was stopping and rear-ended the other car. Olivas was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

A two-car accident was reported at Hunt Highway and American Way. The first driver side-swiped the other car while making a last-minute turn. The first driver stated he is new to area and realized he was about to miss his turn. No injuries were reported and minor damage was done to both vehicles. The first driver was given a verbal warning and insurance information was exchanged.

Thursday, Oct. 14

A two-car accident without injuries was reported at East Price Road and North Pinal Parkway. The first driver stated he realized he was in the wrong lane and when he changed lanes, he hit the other car. Insurance information was exchanged and no citation was issued.

Saturday, Oct. 16

A two-car accident was reported at West Ruggles and North Main streets. The first driver, age 17, stated he pulled onto Ruggles from Padilla Park and did not see the other car. All parties involved initially stated they were not injured. The first driver later requested Florence Fire for a sore ankle. Insurance information was exchanged and the second driver left the scene. The first driver was cited for failure to control speed to avoid collision and failure to stop from private drive. He and his passenger were then transported from the scene by a coworker.

An accident was reported at Judd and Attaway roads. The first car attempted to pass as the second car was making a left turn into a farm field. No injuries were reported. Insurance information was exchanged and no citations were issued.

A rear-end accident was reported at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. Insurance information was exchanged. Dhawal U. Vyas, 36 was cited for speed.
