The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.

Tuesday, Nov. 2

A hit-and-run was reported on South Quartz Street. The reporting party said a vehicle had struck and damaged his block wall and left the scene. A vehicle matching the description was stopped. Upon viewing the vehicle, the officer determined the damage on the vehicle matched what would have been caused by striking the wall. The driver, a 17-year-old male, was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

An accident without injuries was reported at South Main Street and West Canal Road. Richard Smith was cited for speed.

A North Central Avenue resident reported several items missing from the home after she allowed guests to stay there.

A rear-end accident was reported at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. No citation was issued.

Wednesday, Nov. 3

A male reported that another male had made threatening remarks to him and he wanted to pursue charges. A charging review packet will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney for determination of charges.

Thursday, Nov. 4

A two-car accident was reported at Hunt Highway and North Pinal Parkway. Investigation showed one car rear-ended the other. The driver of the second car was transported to the hospital and the first driver, Shannon Bradford, 39, refused further medical attention. She was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

Friday, Nov. 5

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on North Presidential Drive. After speaking with everyone involved it was decided one of the parties would stay with a friend. A charging review packet will be forwarded to the Florence Town Attorney for determination of charges.

Saturday, Nov. 6

Theft was reported on North Hunt Highway. A male reported someone broke into his work trailer and took several items.

Sunday, Nov. 7

An accident between a bicycle and a car was reported at West Spirit Loop and North Monticello Drive. John M. Pate, 74, fell off his bike and struck his head. He was seen by Florence Fire and transported to the hospital. He was cited for improper turning movements and failure to signal.

An officer stopped a car that was coming back as “No Registration Found” at Hunt Highway and Attaway Road. Angel R. Romero, 39, was cited for failure to provide evidence of financial responsibility and driving suspended. He was arrested and booked into jail on a warrant. Passenger Felicia Campos, 36, was also arrested on a warrant.
