The Police Report is compiled from Florence Police Department reports. The only names published are those of adults who were cited, arrested or involved in a traffic accident. Suspects named in this column are innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose arrest appears in this column who is later found not guilty or whose charges are dismissed is welcome to inform the Florence Reminder and it will be reported.
Monday, Dec. 21
A man reported a male threw a rock at his shop window. Police located a male matching the description and Jody M. Flores, 50, was cited on a charge of criminal damage.
Jamie Mote, 40, was arrested on a warrant.
Tuesday, Dec. 22
An accident was reported at West Judd Road and North Palo Verde Drive. Justin M. Klee, 22, attempted to turn left and was struck by another car. Klee was cited for failure to yield.
A hit-and-run accident was reported at Hunt Highway and American Way. A driver reported he was northbound on Hunt Highway when his car was struck on the passenger side. He could not give a description of the other car. He was later taken to the hospital by a friend.
Thursday, Dec. 24
A dirt bike was reported stolen on South San Carlos Street.
An officer responded to a two-car accident. Neither driver requested medical attention but the passenger stated she did have some pain. She was seen by Florence Fire EMS and declined further assistance. Enrico R. Pizano, 19, stated he did not see the other vehicle as he was pulling out of a state prison parking lot. He was cited for failing to yield from a private drive.
A hit-and-run was reported on West Montebello Way. The owner reported someone hit his parked car and left the scene. He reported he did not see it but a neighbor did. The neighbor provided an account of what he observed.
Saturday, Dec. 26
A hit-and-run was reported on West Millerton Way. A woman reported that early in the morning a vehicle struck her parked car and left the scene. There were no witnesses.
An officer responded to a report of domestic violence in progress on North Palo Verde Drive. The parties were separated and a charging review will be forwarded to the appropriate prosecuting attorney for determination of charges.
An accident with injuries was reported in front of Florence Hospital. The first driver stated she was having a medical emergency and was trying to reach the hospital when she hit the other car. Both drivers went to the emergency room. No citation was issued.
