Arrests & Citations

Juan Rodriguez, 43, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Aug. 12 in the 2000 block of West Broadway Avenue for assault and disorderly conduct.

Josephine Morago, 35, was cited and released at 9:26 a.m. for shoplifting at 1695 N. Arizona Blvd. Morago attempted to steal $43.36 in merchandise, according to a police report.

Charles Ramaila, 39, of Florence was arrested at 9:41 a.m. on Aug. 17 at a residence in the 100 block of South 16th Street on two charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Ramaila scuffled with a police officer while being arrested, according to a report. Ramaila also had an outstanding warrant from Pinal County Superior Court for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and shoplifting.

Jennifer Valenzuela, 27, was arrested at 10:38 p.m. on Aug. 18 for marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and running a stop sign at North Arizona Boulevard and West Lindbergh Avenue. Police followed Valenzuela on Arizona Boulevard to a car wash on Vah Ki Inn Road and then back south to a drive-thru lane at McDonald’s. Valenzuela reportedly exited the car and dropped a small bottle that police said contained a green leafy substance. They also found another similar bottle in her car. She was released at the scene.

Dakota Newton, 21, was arrested at 12:31 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 700 block of West Douglas Avenue for disorderly conduct. He was cited and released.

Police arrested a 39-year-old woman they allegedly found passed out in a parked car Aug. 11 with three children inside along with alcohol, marijuana and methamphetamine. Emily Bojorquez was charged with DUI, endangerment and possession of drugs, marijuana and drug paraphernalia during the incident at 5:34 p.m. at 1940 S. Arizona Blvd.

Ramando Smith, 53, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana possession and possession of a dangerous drug during a traffic stop at 7:58 p.m. Aug. 11 at Arizona Boulevard and Northern Avenue. Smith, a passenger in the car, reportedly admitted to police earlier having smoked marijuana and was found with a partially smoked marijuana cigar and a wrapped weighing 1.8 grams a small bag with four small pills, which police tested positive as methamphetamine. During the same incident, Dominique White, 29, the driver of the car, was arrested on two warrants from the city of Eloy and Coolidge.

Josh Robinson, 29, was cited and released for marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and no valid driver’s license at 11:12 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 1200 block of South Picacho Street.

Edward Harris, 27, was arrested and later released on a city of Coolidge warrant and possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle at about 4:54 p.m. on Aug. 8 in the area of North Fourth Street and West Byrd Avenue. A police report stated that a 2008 Dodge Charger was moving at about 10 mph and ran a stop sign on West Kennedy Avenue and Fourth. Harris was seen in the front passenger seat with an open 12-ounce can of beer, which he admitted was his, the report said. He was released on his own recognizance. A records check revealed a city warrant for $2,012.

Theft, Burglary & Criminal Damage

A resident in the 1000 block of North Eighth Place reported puncture marks to three tires and a scratch to the side of a van at 12:24 a.m. Aug. 9. The damages were estimated at $1,400.

A resident in the 600 block of West Coolidge Place reported the theft of a 9-mm Taurus gun valued at $300 from an unlocked vehicle sometime between May 1 and Aug. 5. The victim told police he had placed the firearm under a seat when he last drove the vehicle on May 1.

Police responded to a report of gunfire at 1:46 a.m. Aug. 15 near Atlantic Avenue and discovered that a 22-year-old man had been shot on the bottom of his right foot. Police later contacted a man at a residence in the 600 block of West Raymond Avenue and found a male subject on the kitchen floor suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim said he had been shot on Bealey Avenue and Main Street but did not know by whom. The victim was treated on the scene and transported to a hospital in Chandler. Police inspected the vehicle the victim was driving and found blood on the floor and bullet holes in the side door and left-front tire rim. They also questioned a female subject who said she and two others were “hanging out” with the victim.
