Arrests & Citations

On May 13 Chuck Benally, 43, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct involving a weapon after police said he put the muzzle end of a handgun inside his mouth and then threw the gun at his wife’s feet.

On May 7 Derek Jones, 29, was cited and released on charges of assault after police said he reportedly spit on another person’s face during a verbal argument that ensued at 302 W. Hess Ave.

On May 7 Aneisa Acosta, 18, was cited and released on charges of assault after police said she reported spitting on another person’s face during a verbal argument that ensued at 302 W. Hess Ave.

On May 13 Arnold Boni III, 38, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after police said that he was found trespassing at 327 W. Lincoln Ave. Police said he was located sleeping inside a shed on the property.

On May 8 Corey Harris, 27, was cited and released for having an open liquor container in a vehicle, a stop sign violation and driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop that occurred in the 300 block of West Bealey Avenue.

On May 15 Anthony Rocker, 29, was cited and released on charges of driving on a suspended license, driving without vehicle registration and no proof of insurance following a traffic stop that occurred at the intersection of West Dewey Avenue and South Arizona Boulevard.

On May 9 Sammy Johnson Jr., 31, was arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of prescription drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, a valid and confirmed Eloy JP warrant and a valid and confirmed Casa Grande city court warrant following a traffic stop that occurred in the 200 block of West Seagoe Avenue.

On May 10 Austin Weissenborn, 22, was cited and released for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop that occurred near West Shannons Way and West Northern Avenue.

On May 7 Irvin Zarate, 22, was cited and released for attempting to shoplift a chainsaw from Walmart, 1695 N. Arizona Blvd., and for shoplifting a pressure washer on May 6. Estimated loss $300.

Theft, Burglary & Criminal Damage

On May 9 it was reported that an unknown person driving an older model Chevrolet pickup truck struck a light pole in the parking lot of Shope’s IGA, 1940 S. Arizona Blvd. Estimated loss $500.

On May 11 it was reported that an unknown person(s) fired multiple shots at the residence located at 143 W. Roosevelt Ave. Police found six brass casings on the street outside the home, and four bullet holes made in the structure itself. No injuries were reported.

On May 12 it was reported that an unknown man attempted to purchase several items from the Dollar General, 1797 S. Arizona Blvd., using a counterfeit $10 bill.

On May 12 it was reported that an unknown person stole a red 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle that was parked at the intersection of Bartlett and Christensen Roads. Estimated loss $2,000.

On May 10 it was reported that an unknown person(s) committed burglary from a vehicle parked in the driveway of 2162 W. Broadway Ave. by taking $12 in cash, an Arizona driver’s license and a silver Android cell phone charger. Estimated loss $47.

On May 4 it was reported that an unknown man stole a hand-held “Hart” electric power sprayer from Walmart, 1695 N. Arizona Blvd. Estimated loss $100.

On May 7 it was reported that sometime between May 1 and May 7 an unknown person(s) committed criminal damage and illegal dumping in the 800 block of North Country Village Lane and West Raymond Street in the Country Village Estates subdivision by damaging the lock on the HOA dumpster and piling garbage and debris around the dumpster. Estimate loss $160.
