Eloy Fire Department Logo

The Eloy Fire District responded to the following calls for the week ending June 30. The district also responded to three calls from an outside agency for assistance.

June 24

At 7:43 p.m. at the intersection of 11 Mile Corner Road and Frontier Street. Brush 521 was dispatched for a brush fire. Upon arrival found a railroad tie on fire and heavily damaged. Extinguished the fire and waited for railroad personnel to arrive on scene.

June 28

At 4:37 a.m. at 11 Mile Corner and Frontier units called for a railroad tie on fire. Units found a tie on fire down the track from the intersection on fire. Extinguished the fire.

At 10:02 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Aguadero Brush 522 was dispatched for a brush fire. Found a pile of debris in a yard that had been burning and the homeowner had extinguished before our arrival. Units made sure fire was out and returned to quarters.

June 29

At 3:58 a.m. in the 2000 block of Toltec Road units were dispatched for a semi on fire. Upon arrival found a tractor trailer rig with the tractor fully involved in fire impinging on the trailer. Crews extinguished the fire and protected the trailer contents. Made entry into the trailer to make sure fire was out in the trailer.

At 10:49 a.m. in the 1000 block of S Sunshine Blvd. crews were dispatched for semi-trailer leaking acid. Upon arrival units found a semi-trailer that had a small leak out of the rear of the trailer. Crews cordoned off a safety area and initiated a hazmat response. Provided support to a private cleanup crew when they made entry to determine the cause of the leak. Turned trailer over to private recovery crew.

At 2:33 p.m. at the intersection of Picacho Highway and Harmon Road, Brush 521 responded to a brush fire in the area. Found a fire that had a containment ring around it and the fire was mostly out already. Returned to quarters.

The Eloy Fire District responded to the following emergency calls for the week ending June 30:

Station One ran 39 medical related calls and one motor vehicle accident.

Station two ran 18 medical related calls and two motor vehicle accident.

There were eight reported public assistance service call responded to.
