The Eloy Fire District responded to the following calls for the week ending Dec 29. The district also responded to 1 call from an outside agency for assistance.
At 6:59 pm in the area of Fowler St and Wheeler Rd. BR522 and BC521 was dispatched for a reported brush fire. BR522 arrived on-scene to find a cotton picker fully involved in flames. BR522 extinguished a row of smoldering cotton to prevent spread into the field. The cotton picker equipment fire which was contained to the area and no further exposure were threatened. After confirming the fire was out all crews cleared the scene and returned to quarters.
At 10:50 a.m. in the 400 Block of N. Myers Blvd. Medic 523 was dispatched for a stuck animal in a fence. Medic 523 arrived on-scene to find a dog stuck in between to bars on a metal fence. EFD and EPD crew’s on-scene were able to come up with a plan to free the dog without causing any harm and prevent any damage to the property. After some swift doggy maneuvering crews were able to free the stuck dog and the owners were notified.
