The Eloy Fire District responded to the following calls for the week ending May 18. The Eloy Fire District also responded to 2 calls from an outside agency for assistance and 2 canceled nothing found on Arrival.

May 19

At 3:37 pm in the area of S. Hwy 87 and Hanna Rd. Brush 521 responded to a report of a brush fire.BR521 arrived on-scene to find an area of smoldering brush on the side of the road. BR521 extinguished the fire without incident and cleared the scene.

At 4:18 pm in the area of Battaglia Rd West of Hwy 87. Brush 521 responded to a report of a rubbish fire. BR521 arrived on-scene to find a grass and tree clippings burning on the side of the road. Brush 521 extinguished the fire without any spread to a nearby field.BR521 cleared and went available.

At 4:37 pm in the area of Interstate 10 MP 216. Brush 521 responded to a report of a Brush fire in the median of Interstate 10. Battalion 521 was added to the call. Batt 521 arrived on-scene to find a fast moving brush fire in the median as well as fire on the north side of the Interstate which had jump the road. Battalion 521 requested additional resources through AZ State Fire and Assumed I-10 Command. Eloy Tender 521 and Avra Valley Fire District responded with a Type 1 Engine. Aggressive fire attack was made on both fires and a short time later the fire spread was stopped. Crews remained on-scene for a couple additional hours mopping up hot spots to prevent any rekindling. Command was terminated and all units were released for quarters.

At 7:54 pm in the area of Hanna Rd. EN522 & BC521 were dispatched for a stove top fire. EN522 arrived on-scene to find nothing showing on arrival .EN522 arrived assumed command and began to investigate. EN522 declared the fire was out prior their arrival and no other hazards were present. Command was terminated and Units cleared.

May 20

At 2:10 pm in the area of Interstate 10 at MP 199 area. EN522 and BC521 cleared a previous call and was dispatched for a tire on a semi-trailer smoldering. Units responded and arrived moments later to find smoke coming from the tire area of a Semi Trailer. EN522 pulled an attack line and began extinguishing the smoldering tire preventing major fire damage to the semi-trailer. Once crew determined there was no other hazards they cleared the scene and returned to quarters

May 22

At 1:51 pm in the area of Florence, AZ . Brush 521 was requested by AZ State Fire to respond for a report of a brush fire in the area of Price Rd and the Gila River area. Brush 521 responded and arrived to find five plus acres burning. The crew then began working on fire control. Brush 521 had fire control of their area and was then requested to assist additional unit working a fast moving brush fire south of their location. Brush 521 worked with multiple agencies on gaining fire control. The brush 521 crew arrived back in quarters approx. 9:45 pm that evening safe and sound.

May 23

At 4:18 pm in the area of Florence, AZ. AZ State fire requested Tender 521 for water support for the previous day’s fire. AZ state fire Crews were on-scene mopping up areas from the previous day brush fire. Tender 521 supported crews and apparatus on-scene. Tender 521 arrived back in quarters at approx. 7:30 pm

The Eloy Fire District responded to the following EMS calls for the week ending May 24.

Station one responded to 32 Medical related calls and 1 Motor Vehicle Accidents.

Station two responded to 18 Medical related calls and 2 Motor Vehicle Accident.

There were 6 reported public assistance service calls responded to.
