FLORENCE — A couple of hundred Country Thunder fans are going home with a permanent souvenir.
Tucson’s The Enchanted Dragon tattoo parlor was doing a brisk business Sunday afternoon with new tattoos and piercings. Owner Victor Tackett said it was their first year at Country Thunder, finally getting a chance to ply their trade here after Tucson country music station KIIM-FM vouched for them.
Tackett said his artists were working until 1 a.m. most nights of the festival, and he was predicting they’d be among the last of the vendors to pack up Sunday night. He was expecting to have done over 200 tattoos and piercings by the end of the festival.
“It’s been a very successful weekend. We made a lot of people happy.” He had three busy tattoo artists and two piercers working Sunday.
His father, the late Glen Tackett, started the business in 1984. Victor, the middle son, said his two brothers are in the business as well. Victor said his father would be proud to see his artists doing so much work at Country Thunder.
The Enchanted Dragon has shops in Tucson, Sierra Vista and St. Louis and is preparing to open a new north-side Tucson location.
