Coolidge Dam

Water levels are at historic lows at Coolidge Dam, and the San Carlos Irrigation Project will have two extensive dry-up periods to continue construction on the Pima Lateral and Florence-Casa Grande Canal.

COOLIDGE — Due to continued construction on the Pima Lateral and Florence-Casa Grande Canal, the San Carlos Irrigation Project will have two extensive dry-up periods.

The first five-week dry-up will run Oct. 26 through Nov. 29. Releases from Coolidge Dam on the Gila River will cease at 8 a.m. Oct. 23, the project said in a press release. Diversion gates at Ashurst-Hayden Dam will be closed at 8 a.m. Oct. 25.

Central Arizona Project water will be available for use on the Pima Lateral via the Pima Lateral Feeder Canal.

Releases from Coolidge Dam will resume as requested and available at 8 a.m. on Nov. 27. Diversions at Ashurst-Hayden Darn will resume at 8 a.m. on Nov. 29.

The second five-week dry-up period will run from Dec. 21 through Jan. 24.

Releases from Coolidge Dam will cease at 8 a.m. onDec. 18. Diversions at Ashurst-Hayden Dam will cease at 8 a.m. on Dec. 20.

CAP water will be available for use on the Pima Lateral via the Pima Lateral Feeder Canal.

Releases from Coolidge Dam will resume as requested and available at 8 a.m. on Jan. 22. Diversions at Ashurst-Hayden Dam will resume on at 8 a.m. Jan. 24.
