COOLIDGE — One person was transported to the hospital following a three-car collision that took place at the intersection of three major thoroughfares in Coolidge.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Arizona Boulevard and State Route 87/287 to reports of a three-vehicle collision at 10:42 a.m.

According to the Coolidge Police Department the collision occurred when a silver Toyota sedan turning south on Arizona Boulevard from SR 287 stopped in the intersection, colliding with an eastbound black Nissan pickup traveling along SR 87 headed toward Florence.

When the two vehicles collided they then struck a white pickup stopped at the traffic signal. Police said the vehicle was in the right turn lane, preparing to turn on to SR 287.

Although four people total were involved in the accident, only the driver of the Toyota was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
