COOLIDGE — An area woman was arrested last week after she allegedly attempted to sell marijuana to a juvenile outside the Coolidge Youth Center.
Police arrested Rachel White, 30, of Eloy on Wednesday on charges of selling marijuana to a juvenile, transporting marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. She is also facing additional charges of selling drugs in a drug-free zone.
The incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. when an officer arrived at the Youth Center, 660 S. Main St., in response to a reported theft. White met with the officer and reportedly told him that a juvenile had stolen an ounce of medical marijuana from her while she was parked outside of the building.
The officer was able to locate the juvenile responsible for the theft. But he soon believed that there was more to the story.
Upon further investigation, police determined that the theft allegedly occurred during a drug deal originally set up by White to sell the ounce of marijuana to the juvenile. The adolescent, however, stole the marijuana instead of paying for it.
Police said that before her arrest, White was on probation for previous drug charges.
