CASA GRANDE — A Coolidge man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor after allegedly texting and engaging in sexual conduct with a 12-year-old.

According to Casa Grande Justice Court records, Kristopher S. Perkins, 18, is charged with two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, six counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and one count of aggravated luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

According to Casa Grande Police reports, a couple called police on April 25 and reported that their 13-year-old daughter may have been sexually involved with a young adult male. The couple reported that they had found messages between the girl and the man on the girl’s phone that indicated the two may have been sexually involved with each other. The couple also reported that the girl had been experiencing emotional turmoil in her life and that she had told them that she had broken off the relationship in March.

The couple told officers that they tracked down the man’s Facebook page, which allegedly belonged to Perkins and appeared to show him to be a young adult who lived in Coolidge. The couple turned the phone over to the police.

On the phone, officers found several text and Facebook messages between Perkins and the girl starting in November and ending in March that allegedly discussed him driving to her home and her sneaking out to meet him and to have sex in the car.

Officers also found a series of Facebook messages between the two where the girl allegedly told Perkins more than once that she was 13. In the messages, Perkins allegedly acknowledged the information and told the girl he had just turned 18. The phone also allegedly contained several explicit photos and videos that Perkins sent to the girl and nude photos that Perkins had asked the girl to send him.

Officers interviewed the girl, who told them that Perkins had initiated the conversation on Facebook. She also confirmed that she had exchanged messages, photos and videos with Perkins on her phone starting when she was 12 and had snuck out of her parents’ home to have sex with Perkins at least four times.

Officers also interviewed Perkins, who allegedly confirmed that the Facebook account was his and admitted to talking to the girl on Facebook. Police said he also admitted to sending the girl explicit messages, photos and videos of himself and asking her to send him explicit photos of herself. He admitted to meeting with her to have sex at least three times. He told officers that the girl had told him on Facebook that she was 13, but when they met in person, she told him she was 15.

Perkins was later booked into the county jail.
