TUCSON — Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and Tucson Original Restaurants are partnering to bring the return of the World Margarita Championship, an evening of spirited cocktail competitions, tastings of world-class margaritas and tequilas, the cuisine of the Southwest and more, a press release from event organizers said.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, at Catalyst Arts & Maker Space, 4500 N. Oracle Road, Suite 110 in Tucson. It is on the lower level of Tucson Mall between Sears and Dillard’s.
Tucson Original Restaurants’ chefs and restaurants will battle it out with live judging and a People’s Choice award for the best signature margarita, the press release said.
Attendees will enjoy food sampling and margarita tastings. Attendees will get to vote for their favorite margarita.
Participating chefs and restaurants include Mat Cable of Fresco and Zio Peppe, Ryan Clark of Casino del Sol, Brother Johns, Mary Steiger and Susan Fulton of Gourmet Girls, Wendy Gauthier of Chef Chic, Coralie Sata of Ghini’s French Caffe and others, the press release said.
Tickets are $80 each and include libation and menu samplings, arts experiences and a memorable summer experience.
