CASA GRANDE — Singer, songwriter, author, illustrator and ventriloquist Brent Vernon will perform a special “songs and stories” show at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Family Life Center at First Presbyterian Church, 702 E. Cottonwood Lane.
Vernon has been traveling and performing for more than 20 years, sharing his faith through music, stories and art. He balances a busy tour schedule with working on children’s books and various recordings.
Every story is a story of redemption, according to his website, and every song is a testament to grace.
He recorded his first solo album, “A Thousand Pictures,” in 2001 and released his first book, “Neckless, The Audrey Amaka Story,” in 2010. His two most recent books include read-along CDs.
The family-friendly show features a “special appearance” by Sam, Vernon’s ventriloquist doll, through which songs and stories are told.
Vernon and Sam perform more than 100 concerts a year.
The show is free to attend and open to all.
