Fitness instructors

The Community Recreation Center is looking for group fitness instructors interested in leading energizing, fun, safe and positive class experiences. End-of-summer pool hours

Palm Island Family Aquatic Center will be open only on Saturday and Sunday this weekend through Sept. 1. The last day of open swim for the summer season will be on Labor Day, Sept. 2, from noon to 5 p.m.

Senior karaoke sing-along

The Dorothy Powell Senior Center will host a karaoke sing-along for its members on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 520-421-8760.

Vendors needed

Evening dance

The senior community may mix, mingle and dance to the sounds of Michael Kiraly during a dance beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Dorothy Powell Senior Center, 405 E. Sixth St. Admission is $5 per person. For more information, call 520-421-8760.

Thunderous Thursdays

Thunderous Thursdays is a social club for teens and adults with disabilities offering recreational games and activities on the third Thursday of the month. The activity for August is a movie night featuring the new live action version of “Dumbo” on Aug. 15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 520-421-8677, ext. 4523.

Belly dancing basics

Participants will learn a variety of moves and combinations. Belly dancing improves posture and flexibility, increases self-confidence and tones and strengthens the muscles. All ability levels are welcome. Session 1 begins Aug. 27 with classes being held on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center, 1905 N. Peart Road.
