ORACLE — Arizona Zipline Adventures of Pinal County will be offering guided tours of nearby Peppersauce Cave.
The first two-hour tour of the limestone caverns in Coronado National Forest in southern Pinal County will be offered Sept. 19.
The company says each expedition will be led by two guides who are well-versed in the local history and geology. They will guide each group with tips on how to navigate through crawl spaces as small as 16 inches tall by 43 inches and climb steep passages up to 10 feet high, “all while providing relevant stories and information.”
The groups will be led through a winding cave system that includes many large caverns in addition to the crawl spaces and culminate in a book room.
As part of the experience, adventurers will partake in an off-road vehicle ride from the home base at Arizona Zipline Adventures up the backroad of Mount Lemmon. This route showcases views of both the Galiuro and Catalina mountain ranges as well as opportunities to spot wildlife and undisturbed desert scenery.
The introductory cost of the cave tour is $60 per person plus taxes and fees. Tours will be held on Thursdays. Reservations can be made from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday by calling 520-308-9350 or anytime by going online to www.ziparizona.com.
