QUEEN CREEK — Blue skies, open spaces and big hearts are the theme as actors with the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center take the stage to perform “Oklahoma!”
As part of QCPAC’s Family Theatre Series, shows are set for:
- Friday, June 21, 7 p.m.
- Saturday, June 22, 2 p.m.
- Monday, June 24, 7 p.m.
The story follows “Laurey, a headstrong farm girl and the woman with whom both cowboy Curly and farm hand Jud have fallen in love. When she plays hard-to-get with earnest Curly and instead accepts dangerous Jud’s invitation, tensions rise between the men and capture the interest of the whole town,” QCPAC says on its website.
“Oklahoma!” is set in Indian Territory just after the turn of the century, during a high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys.
“Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a carriage ride down a country road,” a press release from QCPAC said.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for children and are available online at QCPAC.com. The theater is at 22149 E Ocotillo Road.
