ELEVEN MILE CORNER — A new one-man show will be dazzling fairgoers this year. Louie Foxx is a magician, cowboy rope trick artist, comedian, shadow puppet artist and all-around entertainer rolled into one man.

“It’s a little bit of everything,” he said.

He also likes to engage his audience in his magic acts, having one audience member read another’s mind or having an audience member shrink his head.

Foxx said he plans to debut a new trick at this year’s fair.

Foxx said his journey to a one-man variety show began with a magician who visited his kindergarten class. Foxx was enthralled and taught himself magic tricks and rope tricks by checking out every magic book in his local library, visiting every magic show and circus he could find a ride to and seeking out performers.

Foxx, who has traveled the U.S. from coast to coast and around the world, said Arizona is one of his favorite states in which to perform. He loves visiting the ghost towns and sitting at the edge of the Grand Canyon.
