Special speaker at Living Waters
This Sunday Living Waters Church of God will have a special speaker. Army Chaplain Opeyemi S. Oluwafisoye, a Nigerian-born American soldier stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, will be giving some powerful words: “His love for God speaks for him wherever he finds himself.” The service is Sunday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. at 211 E. Date Ave. in Casa Grande.
Fourth of July at Apache Junction
APACHE JUNCTION — Hometown fireworks are scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction High School football stadium. The celebration will include a co-ed volleyball tournament at 8 a.m. with sign-ups at 7:15 a.m.; public swimming from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and a bicycle, wagon and tricycle decorating contest with judging at 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment will be on tap from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free watermelon at 6 p.m. while it lasts. Kids Zone with bounce houses, water slides, games and more runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. Game booths benefiting local nonprofit organizations run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 480-983-2181.
Caregiver Support Groups
Two Caregiver Support Groups meet in Casa Grande weekly to provide encouragement and support in a confidential, emotionally safe environment. Each group is led by trained and experienced partners in caregiving.
- Monday 1 to 2 p.m. at Fiesta Grande RV Resort, 1511 E. Florence Blvd., in the craft room, located in the building east of the office.
- Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Fairways, 2054 N. Thornton Road, in the clubhouse.
