Wellness seminar planned
Max Stanley Chartrand will be the featured speaker on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. during a free community wellness seminar titled “How to Get Your Health Back” at the Casa Grande Community Recreation Center on Peart Road in Room 103. The seminar will feature a discussion on how to resolve osteo/rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathy and other issues. For free tickets call 520-509-6380.
Open field soccer
There will be open field soccer every Wednesday starting this week from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Casa Grande Union High School stadium field, 2730 N. Trekell Road. High school and eighth grade players are welcome. Shin guards, athletic shorts and T-shirt are required. Remember to bring a water bottle. Varsity coaches will be onsite. Summer volunteers are needed for the Seeds of Hope after-school program Power Hour. It is dedicated time for academic review, enrichment and tutoring kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Volunteers are needed for one or more afternoons each week during the summer beginning this week. Lots of Class Reunion
The Class of 1971 is organizing the annual reunion for the graduating classes of 1960 through 1980 of Casa Grande Union High School. This year’s event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at BeDillon’s Restaurant and Cactus Garden, 800 N. Park Ave. The casual get-together takes place once-a-year on the second Friday of October. Dinner and drinks are at the attendees’ expense. Kick back and reminisce with friends and listen or kick up your heels and dance to the music provided. Caregiver Support Groups
Two Caregiver Support Groups meet in Casa Grande weekly to provide encouragement and support in a confidential, emotionally safe environment. Each group is led by trained and experienced partners in caregiving.
- Monday 1-2 p.m. at Fiesta Grande RV Resort, 1511 E. Florence Blvd., in the craft room, located in the building east of the office.
- Wednesday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Fairways, 2054 N. Thornton Road, in the clubhouse.
