World’s Largest Pet Walk Phoenix
An event entitled “The World’s Largest Pet Walk Phoenix” is planned as an inaugural pet-friendly fundraising walk on Saturday, Sept. 26. Organizers hope to schedule the fundraiser to repeat on the fourth Saturday of September through 2030. The in-person event is at 304 S. River Drive, Tempe, and nearly 750 walkers (humans and four-legged friends) are expected to join. Walkers have the option of participating on an indoor or outdoor course or joining virtually from any location. Individual walkers and team walkers may register. All walkers who raise $100 or more will receive the National Walk Shirt to commemorate the day and a bandana for their animal. All proceeds go to help Pet Partners of Arizona, an organization that provides critical visits, public education and support to therapy animal teams. Annual multiclass reunion
The Casa Grande Union High School Class of 1971 is planning its annual reunion for the classes of 1969 through 1980. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at BeDillon’s Restaurant & Cactus Garden, 800 N. Park Ave. The event is a casual get-together that takes place on the second Friday of October. Dinner and drinks are at the attendee’s expense. The event is a chance to sit back, reminisce and listen and dance to music.
