Ostomy Support Group meets
The Ostomy Support Group meets Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Labor and Delivery (WIS) Conference Room of Banner Casa Grande Medical Center. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at the same location and time. The meeting is open to all ostomates, their caregivers and families. Caregivers Support Group
MARICOPA — Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens offers a monthly support group for those who are caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for family members, friends, caregivers and other interested individuals to meet on the second Wednesday of each month for emotional support and learn about available resources. There is no cost to attend and no commitments. The next meeting is Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Copper Sky Recreation Complex, Room A, 44345 W. MLK Blvd. in Maricopa. Young Women in Public Affairs Award Program
The Young Women in Public Affairs Award Program was established in 1990 and the goal is to encourage more young women to participate in public affairs by recognizing the candidate’s commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Applicants age 16 to 19 on April 1 each year, studying at a secondary school, college or university in a Zonta district/region, or who are studying elsewhere but are a citizen of a Zonta country and who demonstrate evidence, are eligible to apply. The application process must start with a Zonta club and applicants may use the Club Locator at Zonta International’s website, www.zonta.org, to locate the nearest Zonta club.
