Summer reading finale

The Summer Reading Program is coming to an end. Celebrate at the Vista Grande Library during the Space Jam Finale with crafts, games, music and more for all ages on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Family Storytime & Craft

Family Storytime and crafting with the youth librarian at Main is open to the whole family on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

Anime & Manga Club for teens

Anime and Manga Club for teens meets at the Vista Grande Library on Tuesdays from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Virtual Reality Room for teens

Teens can sign up for 20 minutes with the Lenova Daydream VR Headset or bring their phones to use free apps with the Merge Cubes and books that seem to come to life. Call the Vista Grande Library to reserve your time: 520-421-8652, ext. 5019. The VR Room is open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Storytime at Vista Grande

Storytime at the Vista Grande Library includes stories, rhymes, songs, educational play and a puppet show. Preschool Storytime begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday and Toddler Storytime begins at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Preschool Storytime is intended for children ages 3 to 5, but all children are welcome.

Drop-in craft

Kids may drop in and complete a craft project to take home on Wednesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Main Library. Crafts generally take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Tween gaming

Vista Grande Public Library offers a variety of video games and board games when tween gaming meets from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Family movies at Vista

Silly cartoons and a family film are screened at 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays at the Vista Grande Library. Popcorn will be provided.

Lego Club

Promoting play contributes to early literacy development by increasing attention span, memory, creativity, language and vocabulary skills. The Main Library Lego Club will meet Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. Parents are required for children under 8.

Free Friday Flicks

The Main Library shows free flicks on Fridays. Movies are family friendly and have a PG rating. Registration is not required, but attendees should be on time as movies start at 2 p.m. Popcorn and a drink will be served.

Scholastic Book Fair

Kids can turn in their Summer Reading logs to get a free Scholastic book from the book fair at either library. Books will also be available for purchase. The book fair will be on Monday, July 15, through Saturday, July 20, during regular library hours. Fair will end at 4 p.m. on the Friday, July 19, at Vista Grande and at 3 p.m. on July 20 at Main.

ESL class at Vista Grande

The Vista Grande Library is offering a free English as a second language class on Tuesday with Yael Sivan from 10 to 11 a.m. Registration is not required.

Advanced Spanish Group

Advanced Spanish Group meets Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Vista Grande Library.

Basic Computers

Struggling with using computers? Basic Computers class at the Vista Grande Library will teach how to use a mouse, the keyboard and a touch screen this Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Borrow It Digitally

Do you want to get e-books, audiobooks, movies and music for free? Find out how through the various digital libraries. Tablet or smartphone highly recommended on Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Main Library.

Get productive with Google’s digital tools

The Casa Grande Public Library offers a free livestream Google training event for everyone, including students, job seekers, parents, volunteers, employees and business owners, that introduces Google tools that help people stay organized, collaborate with others, better manage their time and more from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, at the Main Library.
