ESL class at Vista Grande
The Vista Grande Library is offering a free English as a second language class on Tuesday with Yael Sivan from 10 to 11 a.m. Registration is not required.
Advanced Spanish Group
For those who already know Spanish and feel a little rusty, a casual group meets on Tuesdays to converse about the day, learn new words and brush up on pronunciation. Meetings are from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Vista Grande Library.
You Can Go! CAC community workshop
Central Arizona College admissions representatives will walk people through the school’s application process and discuss financial resources on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Attendees need to bring a state-issued photo ID/driver’s license or proof of residency for admission processing.
The Lounge for Teens
The Lounge at Vista Grande is a place for ninth through 12th graders to join in on lots of activities such as Tuesday Trivia, Family Feud, Writers Club, crafts, video games, job prep and homework help. The Lounge is open after school until 6 p.m.
Todos Fe Prayer Group
An inter-faith Spanish prayer group meets the first and third Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to noon at the Vista Grande Library. It’s open to all.
Financial Literacy Series
The Main Library offers weekly classes as part of a financial literacy series to help with daily stressors such as: worrying about electric bills, putting food on the table and wondering if there will be somewhere to sleep tomorrow night, all which influence the way individuals interact with their children, their families and their communities. Programs will be held each Monday in August from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
