Scholastic Book Fair

Summer Reading Program participants can turn in their reading log to the library’s book fair and pick out a free book. Books will also be available to the public for purchase at buy-one-get-one pricing. The Scholastic Book Fair will be available at both library branches through Friday.

Volunteers needed for Mayor’s Reading Club

Mayor’s Reading Club volunteers will visit area classrooms, sharing their love of reading with students spending up to one hour each month reading in two to four classrooms. Volunteers can apply to the program online via the Mayor’s Reading Club tab at or they can pick up an application in person at either library branch. Applicants must also complete a Casa Grande Elementary School District volunteer application prior to classroom reading. Drop-in Crafts at Vista

All materials are provided for a different craft each Saturday at the Vista Grande Library. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; crafts will take 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Summer book sale

The Friends of the Casa Grande Library are having a summer book sale. The sale will be Friday and Saturday, July 23-24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Vista Grande Library Community Room. There will be a large selection of books, audio books, DVDs and CDs to choose from. Saturday will be $7-a-bag day. The Friends will provide the bag. Those who join the Friends organization at the sale will receive a free book.

Hotspots available for check-out

Casa Grande Public Library cardholders can access free, high-speed internet from almost anywhere through the Wi-Fi hotspot lending program. Portable hotspots allow library cardholders who do not have home internet access to easily get online from almost anywhere using a Wi-Fi-enabled device such as a phone, tablet or laptop. A limited number of hotspots are available to check out from each library branch.
