CASA GRANDE — For girls who want to learn what scouting is all about, the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona organization plans a series of “sampler” events aimed at demonstrating its fun and learning opportunities.
Sampler events will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center, 1905 N. Peart Road in Casa Grande, on the following days:
Thursday, Jan. 16
- , with a theme of Outdoors, More to Explore and
- Thursday, Feb. 13, with a theme of STEM Squad, fun with science.
The events are open to girls in grades kindergarten through five and will include activities and social opportunities.
“The girls will learn about the outdoors and do activities that center on the outdoors,” said Beverly Gomez Arriaga, community development specialist for the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. “The final program in the series will be on Thursday, Feb. 13, and that will be something in the area of STEM.”
Girl Scout staff will be on-hand to answer questions about starting a troop, joining a troop or becoming involved.
Parents are required to attend with their child. There is no cost to attend.
