Neon Sign Park

Lights shine in 2019 at the Casa Grande Neon Sign Park.

CASA GRANDE — The downtown Neon Sign Park will be the location for a new Concert in the Park series set to begin Friday.

Hosted by the city of Casa Grande, the concerts have traditionally been held in Peart Park and various other city venues, including the Community Recreation Center on Peart Road.

The shows are a time for people to spread out on blankets or lawn chairs, relax and enjoy live performances from popular bands and entertainers.

The concerts for September, October and November will be held in the Neon Sign Park in conjunction with Casa Grande Main Street’s Downtown After Dark series, which offers special promotions and activities by participating merchants.

Downtown After Dark activities are from 5 to 8 p.m. Live entertainment will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

This Friday, City Nights Band is set to perform.

Phoenix-based City Nights Band calls itself a variety dance band that plays music from Bruno Mars to The Beatles and Michael Jackson to Journey. The band is composed of Kristen Curry, lead vocals; Brandon Aeschleman, lead vocals; Dave Herring, keyboards/vocals; David Giust, guitar/vocals; Dave Hoffman, bass; and Sean Beaton, drums.

Mariachi Passion and folklorico performances are set for Oct. 8. On Nov. 12, Southbound will perform.

The concerts are free to the public.
