CASA GRANDE — There will be swimming this summer.
The Casa Grande Community Services Department announced that it plans to open Palm Island Family Aquatic Park for the 2021 summer swim season on Saturday, May 29, at noon, a press release from the city said.
“While we are excited to open the pool this summer, the community should plan for modified hours, limited capacity and masks to be worn while not actively swimming,” the press release said.
To maintain safe physical distancing guidelines set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the facility will be limited to 100 patrons at a time. Masks will be required for patrons over the age of 2 and must be worn when not actively swimming.
Modified hours of operation are:
- Tuesday through Friday, noon to 3 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, noon to 5 p.m.
- Fourth of July, noon to 5 p.m.
- Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission during open swim hours for children ages 3-17 is $1. Adults 18 and older is $2. Children age 2 and younger are admitted free of charge.
Swim lessons, swim team, lap swim and aqua fitness will also be available this summer.
