CASA GRANDE – The fireworks are back on. The city of Casa Grande announced Wednesday evening that it will move forward with a socially distanced fireworks display on July 4.
The fireworks will be held on July 4 at Ed Hooper Park, 2525 N. Pinal Ave. Gates at the parking lot for the park will open at 7 p.m. and the fireworks will start at 9 p.m. Residents attending the fireworks will be directed to park in specially marked parking spots in order to maintain social distancing.
The city is asking residents to only drive those members who are in their immediate household to the fireworks display and to stay within the specially marked parking areas. Face coverings are required in areas where people cannot maintain a safe social distance, such as in a line to a bathroom.
Families will have to bring their own food and drinks to the event because concession stands will not be open. Restrooms and handwashing facilities will be scattered throughout the parking lot.
Residents will not be allowed to linger in the parking area after the event is finished.
The city will also live-stream the fireworks on the city of Casa Grande’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cityofcg.
