Central Arizona College Rodeo 30/10/19

CAC rodeo team member Justin Kibler gets a time of 10.1 seconds in the tie-down roping event at the Central Arizona College Rodeo on March 10, 2019, at Ed Hooper Rodeo Park.

CASA GRANDE — The breakaway and tie-down roping event will be the first in Cowboy Days & O’Odham Tash, held on Friday, Feb. 14.

The competition will begin at noon in the rodeo grounds at Ed Hooper Rodeo Park.

“It is a fundraiser for the Central Arizona College rodeo team,” said Lakota Bird, organizer of the event. “This will be the first event that is in conjunction with the O’Odham Tash rodeo. We thought the fundraiser would tie in well with the O’Odham Tash.”

Entry fees are $100 for the breakaway and $150 to compete in the tie-down.

Those wishing to enter are urged to just show up on the morning of Feb. 14 and fill out entry forms and pay fees. There is no preregistration.

The event is free for spectators to enjoy.
