APACHE JUNCTION — The Fit Families Mud Run is Oct. 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds, 1590 E. Lost Dutchman Blvd.

Through the event, families will experience an obstacle race together and participate in an event without the high-level dangers of the mainstream mud runs, organizers said in a press release.

The obstacles created for the Fit Families Mud Run are age-appropriate in their distances, challenges and safety; the obstacles were designed for maximum mud and minimum danger.

There are two routes:

  • A short 1.25-mile route with about 10 obstacles, designed for most participants ages 12 and younger.
  • The longer route of 2.5 miles, with about 13 obstacles and designed for most participants 12 and older.

It is recommended that parents accompany runners age 10 and younger. There is no fee or registration for a non-participating parent accompanying a child.

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Fee is $10 per person if registered by Oct. 1. Adult prices will increase to $20 after Oct. 1 and the fee for day-of-race registration is $25 for adults. Youths will remain at $10 per participant.

Puria Vida Grinds and Healthy Mason Jar will be on hand for purchase starting at 7:30 a.m. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your wave time. Day of race registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
