Beginning Spanish

Inklings writers’ group

Inklings writers’ group at Vista Grande Library is a group for writers ages 18 and older. It is a community critique group for future publication. Writers may attend to share their work and be critiqued. The group is perfect for current and budding authors. The group will meet every first and third Thursday of the month from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Teen time at Vista

  • Anime Club — The teens will watch a series of anime with discussions and games. Mondays from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m., grades 6-12
  • The Lounge — An after-school program for teens run by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor. Monday through Friday till 6 p.m., grades 9-12

Adult Craftastic

Free COVID-19 vaccine clinic

A free COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held at the Main Library on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. Walk-up registration or preregister at This free vaccine event is provided by Pinal County Public Health.

Adult Reading Challenge

Stop by either branch and pick up an Adult Reading Challenge form, complete the four tasks and return the form by Feb. 19.

Community blood drive

The city of Casa Grande Employee Wellness Committee is sponsoring a community blood drive on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Advance appointments are encouraged to help maintain social distancing. Kinder Prep registration

Kinder Prep at the Vista Grande Library will cover basic kinder readiness topics. Classes will be held 11 consecutive Fridays starting on Jan. 7. Students must be 4 or 5 years old to join. Register at or call 520-421-8652.

Monday Movie Madness

The Main Library shows some of the blockbuster movies released in 2020 and 2021 in an event for adults ages 18 and older. Capacity is limited. Attendees should arrive early to secure a spot on Mondays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Documentary Series: Southwest Water and Deserts

Teapot Discussion Group

Famous quotes that influence our minds will be examined. Personal discoveries will be deduced. Attendees may practice critical thinking with Ms. Natalia. Tea will be provided. Attendees should bring a mug or teacup on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Vista Grande Library.

Lunch Bunch Book Group

The book of the month club meets from noon to 1 p.m. on Jan. 11 at the Main Library. This year’s theme will be the history, science and issues of water in the Southwest. The next meeting will discuss “Miracle of the Salt River.”

The Day the Crayons Quit scavenger hunt

The crayons are not ready to go back to school. Help us track down all your favorite missing crayons, like blue, pink and green, as they hide in between our library shelves. This fun scavenger hunt is geared toward kids of all ages and will run daily at both branches through the month of January.

Just for Kids at Vista

  • Storytimes — Join Mr. David on Wednesdays for Preschool Storytime (ages 3 to 5) or Thursdays for Toddler Storytime (up to age 3). Storytimes are held from 10 to 11 a.m.

  • Gaming — Video games and board games for kids, after school every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Family fun with games

Games are a fun and motivating way to learn together. Whole families may visit the Vista Grande Library for all kinds of games and fun activities for every age on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Drop-in crafts at Main

Drop by the Main Library this Saturday between 2:30 and 4 p.m. for a fun yet simple craft to do with your child. Each craft should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Parent/guardian required.
