Governing Board Extends Mask Requirement
The CGUHSD Governing Board approved the following on September 28, 2021: To continue the mask requirement indoors, optional outside with opt-out option. This will continue through the first semester of the 2021-22 school year.
The Continuity of Learning Committee will continue to meet bi-weekly to monitor CGUHSD and Pinal County Health Department’s weekly COVID-19 numbers.
The Continuity of Learning Committee will present a proposal to either continue or dismiss the use of the district’s mask requirement with opt out at the December 7, 2021, Governing Board Meeting.

First Place voting continues for the Greatest of the Grande contest at https://www.pinalcentral.com/greatest_of_the_grande/#//. Vote once per day from now until Sunday, October 3. Nominees include both high schools and four (4) staff members: (Shopping & Services: Public School) Casa Grande Union High School and Vista Grande High School; (People: Nurse) Linda Cassidy, CGUHS; (People: Principal) Glenda Cole, VGHS; and (People: Teacher) Casey Farnsworth, CGUHS, and Martin Gustafson, CGUHS. First Place winners will be announced Thursday, November 18.

Please consider completing the form even if you do not intend to participate in the Free & Reduced-Priced Meals program. This information is used by the federal government to determine the district’s allocation of funding for numerous grant programs which support school educational activities.

Sophomores & Juniors interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT at CGUHS on Tuesday, October 26, can pay the Online Bookstore at https://az-casagrande.intouchreceipting.com/. The fee for the test is $18 and includes a QR code for the Official PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide and Khan Academy for individualized test prep. The PSAT/NMSQT measures what you are learning in school, determines if you are on track, and opens doors for opportunities to prepare and pay for college. Some of the benefits of taking the PSAT/NMSQT test include: connection to $300 million in scholarships, eligibility for the National Merit® Scholarship Program (juniors only), learning your academic strengths, and free access to personalized prep. SAT Testing @ CGUHS
Juniors & Seniors interested in taking the SAT at CGUHS on Thursday, October 28, can pay the Online Bookstore at https://az-casagrande.intouchreceipting.com/. The fee for the test is $55. The SAT measures what students learn in high school and what they need to succeed in college. Offering the SAT test at CGUHS provides a comfortable and safe environment where students can perform their best. Senior Success Night
The Counseling Department hosted their Senior Success Night in September. After a presentation by in-state universities, students and families browsed tables hosted by universities, military branches, trade schools, and scholarship resources.
