CASA GRANDE — A recent Zumba-thon raised more than $500 for the Alliance Cancer Support Center.

Held on Oct. 11 at the Casa Grande Community Recreation Center, the party-style fundraiser was a community event aimed to honor those affected by breast cancer, said Kembly Mourelo of the Alliance Cancer Support Center.

“It was a beautiful event,” Mourelo said. “We had a great turnout and a lot of people wearing pink. It was fun.”

The instructors who contributed their time to the fundraiser were: Dalia Blunt, Paula Guerra, Juanita James, Krissa Myers, Jessica Arias Diaz, Connie Kamasho, Daniel Kent, María Jose Mo, María Lupita Espinoza, Heidi Brasch, Susie Haddox and Belinda Duran.

The fundraiser was held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed in October.
