Volunteers have worked for years to restore the old school buildings in Toltec.

ELOY — “At Last” is the theme for the 16th annual dinner dance fundraiser for the Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum, set for Saturday, Nov. 2, at The Property Conference Center in Casa Grande.

The band Bad June is set to perform dance music for the fundraiser, which promises “good food, good music and good fun,” a press release from the museum board said.

The event, which includes door prizes, a raffle and both silent and live auction items, is the annual effort to raise money to complete the renovation and maintain the two old school buildings in Eloy.

Recognized as an Arizona Centennial Legacy Project, the old Toltec Elementary School on Toltec Road, south of Frontier Street/Jimmie Kerr Boulevard, has two buildings with significant historical value to the community, the press release said. Eligible for the National Historic Register, they are currently being restored by Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

“The restoration is almost complete. Attend and share in the joy of putting the funds over the top,” the press release said.

Tickets for the event are $50 each or two for $90 and can be purchased from Dick Myers by calling 520-840-1041 or Kristin Gramando, 520-705-0910.

Those needing more information on the museum project or those who would like to make a donation or volunteer also may call Myers. The museum mailing address is P.O. Box 3723, Arizona City, AZ 85123. Its website is http://scvhmuseum.org.
